Julia’s Family Flavors

The Upside Down Apple Cake

We waited 3 long years for the last season of Stranger Things to come out on Netflix, so we just had to make a special treat for the occasion! We wanted something delicious, retro, and easy!

You don’t really see an upsidedown cake anymore, but this one is worth making. It is great for anytime of year, but especially in the fall.

We took a basic yellow cake mix and added some fall flavor to it through cinnamon applesauce and apple pie spice. The brown sugar syrup elevates the flavor even more. Pineapple rings were replaced with thinly sliced apple pieces.

We hope you give this cake a try. It was a great bite while watched one of our favorite shows. Don’t forget to top it off with a spoonful of Cool Whip!
