Cast Iron Skillet Apple Cider Pie Filling
Apple cider makes this pie filling extra rich and flavorful

- 7-9 medium apples Granny Smith & Honeycrisp
- ½ lemon juiced
- ¾ cup dark brown sugar
- 1½ tsp cinnamon
- ¾ cup apple cider
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 tbsp butter, salted
- 2 tbsp apple cider
- 2 tbsp corn starch
Peel, core, and dice 7-9 apples
Combine diced apples, sugar, cinnamon, cider, and lemon juice in a cast iron skillet
Heat on medium-high heat and stir occasionally. Leave on heat for 7-9 minutes or until apples are fork tender
While apples are cooking, make slurry with 2 tbsp apple cider and 2 tbsp cornstarch
Stir slurry into apple mixture until thickened
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and butter
